Ladies - Mail on Sunday and Bell Cup

Congratulations to the Ladies Team for beating Cheadle today in the Bell Cup and last night for beating Denton in the Mail on Sunday....well done I will try and organise some nice weather for your next rounds.

I hope that everyone is keeping dry today, the cancellation of the Dunscar friendly match was an inspired decision.

I have a feeling "Captain Galoshes" might stick, it could be updated to "Waders"

Race Night

Well after the unfortunate cancellation of the Foursome Qualifier due to the weather, the Race Night brought a welcome break from the rain.  For each of the 8 races the going was good and the punters cheered on their horses. There were a few disappointed race goers who didn't manage to beat the tote (though by a stroke of luck I did manage a couple of wins - definitely not a fix as some thought)!!

My thanks to Howard and Christine for the organisation, to Les Price, Bill Chetham and Chris Boyes -  the bookies on the night, and also to all the members and guests who made it a fun and noisy evening.

First Frolic

The frolic season is underway with great support, thanks to Derek Chadwick for all the organisation for these events.

My partners were the Lady Captain, Mr President and Elizabeth Penny. A at bit chilly and windy but we suvived to come 3rd.   Congratulations to the winners, Andrew Howie, Linda Jenkinson,  Mike and Ann Couser, great score of 71pts....wow

Last Quiz Night

Birthday Boy.....Joyeux anniversaire Yvonne ... 21 fois.

A fantastic turn out last night for the final quiz until October.

These evenings wouldn't happen if it wasn't for the commitment by John and Mel Parkinson who work tirelessly to give us the best quiz around.

The winners tonight were 6 appeal......again !!!!..... they will be docked points for the October night....ha ha

Cheshire Ladies Junior Spring Meeting

The Lady Captain and I attended the presentation for this event and we very much enjoyed tea with the County Captain Mrs Hilary McNeil and the County President Mrs Sue Graveley.  Good luck to all the players for the season ahead.

My playing partners today were Mark Marshall (Jnr Captain) and Tony Stiles, we decided that playing at 3.20 is like millionaires golf, no hold ups and 3 hours 15 for the round we might be converted !!!!

Tonight saw the traditional supper and draw for the hotly contested Mixed Summer League.  Organised by Jack and Sue Barrett for the 21st year, we are all looking forward to a great competition and good company.
